Fair Usage Policy
HolaFone Fair Usage Policy
Effective Date: 30 June 2026
1. Purpose
HolaFone aims to provide a fair and reliable service for all customers. This Fair Usage Policy explains how data allowances are managed on plans advertised as “Unlimited”.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure a consistent experience for all users while complying with the technical limitations and fair usage requirements of our network partners.
2. Understanding “Unlimited”
Some HolaFone plans are advertised as Unlimited.
These plans provide a combination of:
- High-speed data, followed by
- Reduced-speed data for the remainder of the allowance.
The exact allowance for each plan is displayed before purchase.
Example
A one-day Unlimited plan may include:
- 7 GB at full network speed.
- 7 GB at a maximum speed of 2 Mbps.
The HolaFone app and website will display a total allowance of 14 GB, showing both portions of the plan.
Another example:
A thirty-day Unlimited plan may include:
- 60 GB at full network speed.
- 60 GB at a maximum speed of 2 Mbps.
The app and website will display the total allowance as 120 GB.
The exact amounts vary by plan and destination and will always be displayed before purchase.
3. Reduced-Speed Data
Once the full-speed allowance has been consumed, your connection speed may be reduced to a maximum of 2 Mbps for the remainder of the reduced-speed allowance.
At approximately 2 Mbps you should still be able to:
- Browse websites.
- Use messaging applications.
- Access email.
- Use standard-definition video where supported.
- Use navigation services.
Some activities, including HD video streaming, large downloads and cloud backups, may perform more slowly.
4. Additional Network Management
Our network partners may also apply reasonable traffic management during periods of congestion to maintain service quality for all users.
HolaFone does not control these measures.
5. Abuse Prevention
Unlimited plans are intended for normal personal use.
They are not intended for:
- Commercial resale.
- Permanent replacement of fixed broadband.
- Automated traffic generation.
- Excessive machine-to-machine communications.
- Activities that negatively affect other network users.
Where abuse is identified, HolaFone may suspend, restrict or terminate the affected service.
6. Changes
HolaFone may update this Fair Usage Policy where required by changes to network operator policies or applicable laws.
